Kassie Steegman Profile
Kassie Steegman, MBA, CFAKassie coaches business leaders, entrepreneurs and corporate teams on developing leadership capabilities, building teams and managing transitions. She specializes in helping them create collaborative, authentic and empowered work environments that result in organizational effectiveness, productivity and sustainability. A key element of Kassie’s work is ensuring clients put new behaviors, insights and skills into “practice” within their organizations and lives. Kassie accomplishes this by combining significant business experience with an in-depth knowledge of leadership and adult development. Kassie is passionate about helping professionals learn to embrace differences in behavioral style, values and experience. She views these aspects as fundamental to fostering effective working relationships, resolving conflict and increasing productivity. Leadership assessments are used to identify core competencies, internal assumptions and reactive tendencies that may limit effectiveness in the workplace. Kassie has more than 20 years of experience in business—namely investment management—and consulting. Her investment management expertise is in the healthcare, retailing, beverages, media and telecommunications industries. While co-managing multi-billion dollar equity portfolios for The State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio, she coached analysts through the process of understanding how their own strengths, style and motivations contributed to their investment success. To be an effective leader, she recognized the importance of “walking her talk” as well as aligning individual and organizational culture, values and goals. Through her experience as a portfolio manager, Kassie discovered her natural desire for bringing out the best in others and creating successful work environments. Kassie holds Masters and Bachelors degrees in Business Administration from The Ohio State University and a personal and organizational coaching certification from The Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara. Her assessment training includes certification in The Leadership Circle’s 360 Profile, Myers Briggs Type Indicator, DISC, PIAV, PTSI, and TriMetrix System. She is a member of the Central Ohio Chapter of the International Coach Federation and CFA Institute. Because of her passion for advancing women leaders, she is the Project Chair for WELD’s 2010 “Twelve Women You Should Know” Calendar. |
